SpamWasher 2.0.1000 - User Guide and FAQ

Screenshots - More Details

Throughout the software, several terms will be used to describe the various items in SpamWasher. Below is a brief description of these terms.

Address Book
The address book is used to keep a list of your trusted, blocked and unverified senders.

Trusted Friend
A trusted friend is someone whom you trust in and you wish to receive all e-mail from. A trusted friend's e-mail is never checked by the filtering system and is passed directly to your e-mail client. It is important to maintain your list of trusted friends to avoid SpamWasher considering these e-mails as potential spam.

Blocked Sender
A blocked sender is someone from whom you do not wish to receive e-mail. If e-mail arrives from a blocked sender, it is moved to the deleted items folder automatically.

Unverified Sender
An unverified sender is someone who has e-mailed you but is not in your trusted friends list or your blocked senders list. You may review unverified senders and add senders that you trust to your trusted list.

Approved E-Mail
Approved e-mail is a mail that is from someone on your trusted friends list or has passed all of the spam detection tests. Approved e-mail will be delivered to your e-mail client. If an e-mail is in your approved mail folder, and you consider it spam, you may mark the e-mail as spam and it will be moved to your spam e-mail folder.

Spam E-Mail
Spam e-mail is a mail that has been flagged by SpamWasher as potential spam. SpamWasher uses a complex filtering system to determine what potential spam is. If an e-mail has been incorrectly judged as spam due to the characteristics of the e-mail, you may approve the e-mail for delivery or trust the sender.
