Frequently Asked Questions - Acoustica Audio Converter Pro

  1. What's the difference between an audio CD and MP3 CD?
Traditional audio CDs are created using the Audio CD for Car and Home CD Player project. If you use MP3 files to create an audio CD, ALO Burner will automatically convert them into the audio CD format so your new disc can be played on any CD player. ALO Burner can also be used to create a special type of disc called MP3 CD. On MP3 CD, your MP3 files are not converted to the audio CD format. Because your MP3 files remain compressed, MP3 CD can contain many more songs than an audio CD. However, MP3 CD can only be played on computers and music players that can read MP3 files.

  2. Why can't I play my CD-R in my audio CD player?
Here are a few reasons why your CD-R disc may not be working properly in your CD players: Disc compatibility - not all brands of CD-R players are compatible with all brands of CD-R disc. Find a combination of writer, disc and player that work together. Audio tracks burned in multiple sessions - remember to burn all of the audio tracks in one session on a CD-R. Normal audio CD players cannot find the later sessions, so tracks written in later sessions won't get played. You might be able to play it back with your CD writer. Speed problems - some discs work better written at 1x, 2x, or 4x than it does at other speeds. You may find that slowing down or speeding up the writer helps. MP3/OGG/WMA/WAV files in CD-ROM format - remember to burn the disc in CD-DA format. If you write MP3/OGG/WMA/WAV files to a disc in CD-ROM format, the disc will not work in your home CD player.

  3. Why can't my drive read 700MB/80min CD-Rs?
Some CD-ROM drives as well as home and car CD player can have difficulty reading the 700MB/80 minute CD-Rs because the track spacing is closer together than lower capacity CD-Rs.

  4. Which burn method should I choose for audio CD?
TRACK-AT-ONCE - The audio disc will be written WITH silence intervals between tracks. The result disc will NOT be closed for writing, so additional tracks can be added later. However, normal audio CD players cannot find the later sessions, so tracks written in later sessions won't get played. SESSION-AT-ONCE - The audio disc will be written WITHOUT silence intervals between tracks. The result disc will NOT be closed for writing, so additional tracks can be added later. However, normal audio CD players cannot find the later sessions, so tracks written in later sessions won't get played. DISC-AT-ONCE - The audio disc will be written WITHOUT silence intervals between tracks. The result disc will be closed for writing, so additional tracks CANNOT be added to the CD.

  5. ALO RM to MP3 Converter strangely doesn't recognize *.ram files, but Realplayer can play it normally.
Some RAM files is index file, and exclude any media data. Please check the size of ram file, if the size is smaller than 2KB, mostly it's a index file. You can open the ram file with Notepad or other text editor, and download the actual media file with the url list in the ram file, then begin to convert. If you can't download it(real player auto-run to play it), please use some download tools, such as FlashGet or NetTransport.

  6. Why can't I play my CD-RW in my audio CD player?
For audio CDs, you'll want to work with CD-R rather than CD-RW because you can't play CD-RW discs in normal audio CD players.
