Frequently Asked Questions - Radiotracker Platinum
- Is Radiotracker legal?
Recording radio programs for private use is permitted. Be aware that these same laws prohibit you from passing such recordings on to other individuals.
- Radiotracker can't connect to the internet, what can I do?
If Radiotracker can't create an internet connection, or reports that available bandwidth is insufficient even though a connection exists, try the following:
- Verify that your internet connection is not already overloaded by other applications.
- If you use a firewall or router, make sure that Radiotracker has permission to access the internet.
- Some radio stations send music of specific genres over ports other than the standard ports 80 and 8088. If you've added such a station to your Stations List, you must also open these additional ports.
- Radiotracker rips but no tracks are being produced, why?
If Radiotracker rips but no tracks are saved in the export directory, you should examine the following points:
- Is the option "Only Produce Wished Tracks" activated and Radiotracker runs in rip mode "Wishlist"? In this case it may take a while until your wishes are ripped and produced, depending on the frequency of those tracks being played on air.
- Some stations broadcast cross-faded tracks. Being an expert, you can hereunto adjust some settings in the options tab MP3 options.
- How can I inserting specific stations?
Any internet radio station transmitting in MP3 format can be manually inserted in the Stations List. In the "Define Favorites" Dialog Window, click on the "Add by URL" button and enter the stations' URL. Alternatively you can select the station's playlist file.
- How does Radiotracker know what music is playing where?
Each executing Radiotracker Platinum application automatically sends all other Radiotracker applications a tiny message about which music is just beginning to play and where.
This makes it possible to tap into thousands of internet radio stations to find your favorite music. The world becomes smaller! For example, a Radiotracker in Yespan might notify your Radiotracker that the Madonna hit you've been urgently seeking is beginning to play.
At the same time, your Radiotracker automatically receives additional information about the other MP3s you're looking for, reduced to information about the current music track and information from the located radio broadcaster. It's totally brilliant, and it's totally legal.
