• Make sure your microphone is plugged in properly, and the microphone recording control of the sound card mixer is selected.
• Double-click the VCS 4.0 shortcut on the desktop, or click Start, point to Programs, click Voice Changer Software, and then click Voice Changer 4.0. When you do, the AV VCS 4.0 default skin will appear.
• Turn AV VCS 4.0 on by clicking the On/Off button; when AV VCS 4.0 is on, the button is red.
• If the Duplex button is dimmed, it means that the duplex mode is off; in this case, click the Duplex button and make sure it is red and illuminated.
• Move the Voice Morpher pointer within the Voice Morpher graph or simply select a nickvoice (preset voice output) by clicking the Nickvoices button. For example, select the Charming Girl or Old Woman nickvoice if you are a male and if you would like to change your voice into a female one.
• Start talking into the microphone, and you will hear a modified voice that you won't recognize.
• Click the Equalizer tab on the Advanced Effects Panel. When you do, the Equalizer module will appear. Then click the on/off LED indicator. Click the Presets button to select one of the presets of Pitch-Timbre combinations, for example, Gentle or Soft if you want to smooth out the voice output. If you are still not satisfied, move the Equalizer sliders one by one up or down until you will find the equalization that best suits you.
• The quality of the voice output also depends on the Mode and Sample Rate attributes. If you use a regular microphone, the following values are recommended: Mode: Mono / Sample Rate: 16000 Hz
• If you want to add an effect to the voice output, click the Effects tab on the Advanced Effects Panel, turn on the Effects module by clicking the on/off LED indicator and then select an effect.

1. How do I use VCS in voice chat?
   Rest assured that VCS is compatible with most instant messengers, such as Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Messenger, MSN Messenger, Skype, Eyeball Chat, etc.

   Play your sound files in an audio player, such as Windows Media Player, RealOne, Winamp, etc. and turn on VCS. The software can change vocals, apply effects as well as record and save the morphed stream into a brand-new file for your own purposes.
   
   
5. I want to sing karaoke with different voices. Is this possible with VCS?
   Very simple, turn VCS on, set the timbre and pitch to the desired levels, turn "Duplex" button on, sing along the running lyrics to microphone. VCS can work with PC Karaoke Players without modifying the Midi music. You can also use VCS with a regular karaoke device if your PC Line-out is connected to it.
