Frequently Asked Questions - Record Anything
- I can't record anything.
You haven't properly set the recording channel. Double click on the blue icon in the bottom-right systray area, in the configuration window:
- Choose the proper input channel. For music, it's usually WAVE, WAVE OUT, STEREO, STEREO Mix etc. For voice, it would be Microphone.
- Adjust the input volume, maybe with the help of the optimize wizard.
- Click apply.
- The only input channel choice in the drop down box is "microphone", why?
Do you have multiple sound devices? Some video cam may include a microphone only sound device. Go to "Control Panel => Sound/Audio Devices => Audio =>Sound Recording", then switch the default recording device.
- How do I record a voice chat session?
It's a little complicated. Please follow these steps.
- Use headphone instead of speakers to avoid echo noise.
- Go to Windows Volume applet and enable "Microphone".
- Open Record-Anything configuration window and choose Stereo Mix(or similar channel name like Stereo, WAVE Mix, etc. depending on your system) as the input channel.
- Start recording.
