GST-VAT Accounting 1.0.2.22 - User Guide and FAQScreenshots - More DetailsHelp not working under Windows Vista While current versions of OWL programs are all compatible with Windows Vista, you may experience problems when trying to access help from within the programs. Microsoft has made a free download available for those who are experiencing this problem. Go to Download WinHlp32 for Vista and follow the instructions to correct this problem. Trouble Installing When I try to install your software I get the following message: "C:\Windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-Dos and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." This is caused by a missing or corrupt Windows file. One resolution to this problem is to reinstall the missing file from your original Windows CD. Instructions for doing this are available on the Microsoft support web site at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767 The other resolution is do download a current setup file from our archive. Setup procedures for our latest release have been revised so they no longer require the support file that is missing from many windows installations. Win32 Error This error occurs when running 32 bit OWL Applications when a printer has not been installed on the system. To correct the error, install a printer (or at least install a windows printer driver) on the system. It is not necessary for a printer to be physically connected to the computer to run the OWL Application. Database Corruption Detected This may occur after an abnormal shut down of the program. Most frequently this is the result a power failure or surge that either shuts the computer down or locks the computer so that the program cannot be shut down normally. The easiest solution to this problem is to restore backup data. In the event a backup of your data files is not available or is not current, you may wish to attempt to repair the database corruption. The program DBFIX, which can be downloaded below, can often be used to successfully repair corrupted data files. After downloading and installing DBFIX, perform the following steps:DBFix Screen * From the File menu choose Open DBF and select the file was reported as corrupted. * From the Analysis menu choose Diagnostics. A screen similar to the following will be displayed. * In the lower portion of the window, change the Number of Records From File Header to equal the those reported From DOS. * Click OK * Repeat steps 1-4 for each file that has been reported as corrupted. * Run the OWL application and choose the Re-Index Data option before attempting to run reports or enter any new data. Download DBFIX (approximately 155k). After downloading DBFIX, run dfsetup.exe. This will install DBFIX on your system and place shortcut icons for running the program on your desktop and in your start menu. Screenshots - More Details
