Frequently Asked Questions - Mercury Document System
- What can you do with Capture Tool?
(1) Capture a web page from IE and all IE-based applications (including Outlook, Outlook Express, Avant Browser, Maxthon, NetCaptor, Slim Browser, GreenBrowser, Sleipnir...) by drag and drop. The web page capture function is very flexible in what it can into Mercury Document System. It includes:
- capturing a full web page,
- capturing image(s) only (you can edit the image filter by image format),
- capturing text only,
- capturing URL information only,
- batched capture all linked pages is also supported,
- you can download linked object files in that page as an attachment to the target web page,
- the facility to add Subject, Source URL, and Memo data (with unicode support).
(2) Drag and drop files from File Manager or Windows Explorer. This is functionally the equivalent of Import File.
(3) Drag and drop URL to Mercury Capture Tool will perform the save web page function too. The user can drop a URL from the address bar or from web page. This function can be used for non-IE based browsers (for example, Morzilla, Firefox...) also. Unlike web page capturing function in (1), which scans information from your cache, this procedure will re-load the URL from internet, so the processing speed will be different.
(4) Drag and drop text from any Windows applications which support drag operations to Mercury Capture Tool, then you can add text paragraphs to Mercury Document System.
The information you added to Mercury Document System through this Capture Tool will be indexed on the fly, so you can find search terms easily with very limited memory by using the Search function.
