My Stuff Deluxe 3.3.5 - User Guide and FAQScreenshots - More DetailsMandatory fields The only field that is mandatory is the name of the item. All other fields may be left blank. The item name does not have to be unique as in the older My Stuff product. Therefore you can have multiple items with the same name. Backup Regular backups are absolutely necessary and very easy to make. All you need to do is click on the File | Backup menu item. You will be prompted for a folder or a drive letter (you can select your floppy). My Stuff Deluxe will compress your data into a single backup file in zip format. Marked items Items can be arbitrarily marked. The reason for marks is that you may want to group certain items that have no clear relation to each other. Marking the items enables you to then filter the marked items and print only those marked items on a report. Filters Filters are used to view only those items that are of particular interest. From the main menu you can quickly filter on those items that are marked/not marked, insured/not insured and of personal/non-personal interest. Simply click on the Filter menu item to access these options. Reports There are several built-in reports available. Within each report you can select which items will be printed and the order that they are printed in. The location, category and condition report are special in that they automatically group the items by location, category and condition respectively. Export Data Your items can be exported in comma-delimited format and sent to Excel for further spread sheet analysis. Select the File | Export Data menu item. You will be prompted for the name of an output file. The default filename is 'items.csv'. Use the default file extension if you wish to then open up the data using the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Quick Picks Several items on the main screen give you the option of selecting from a drop down list of choices. For example: Location, Category, How Purchased, etc. The quick pick speeds up data entry as you don't have to retype the location... simply select the location from a pre-entered list of choices. Depreciation There are 3 methods for depreciating items for expense purposes. Straight line, Sum-of-years, Double-Declining Balance. The amount to depreciate is the Original cost of the item less the salvage value. Screenshots - More Details |
