Frequently Asked Questions - menuZap for Excel
- Can I send a workbook that I use with menuZap to a computer that is not equipped with menuZap?
Yes. menuZap doesn't change any of the ways MS-Excel workbooks may be used. This is true of any situation on any computer. Indeed, when the workbook is sent back to you it will have retained all of the menuZap environment.
Before sending a workbook to a workstation not equipped with menuZap, we recommend that you save the file after displaying all the spreadsheets (Button). If this is not done, the recipient will simply have to unmask the hidden spreadsheets manually. (Format/Spreadsheet/Display)
- What happens if I create or delete spreadsheets or change the names using standard Excel functions? (on a workstation not equipped with menuZap or on my workstation)
menuZap will detect the modifications and take them into account.
Newly created spreadsheets will be added to the list . It will be up to you to associate them to buttons of your choice.
Deleted spreadsheets will no longer be displayed in the menuZap lists.
Spreadsheets that have changed name will automatically have the name changed in menuZap. (Except for MS-Excel versions 97 and 2000 or for graphic spreadsheets: a name change will be considered as a deletion and creation of a new spreadsheet).
- Is it necessary to close the menuZap window to access the data in my workbook?
The answer depends on the version of MS-Excel being used.
With MS-Excel 2000, XP and 2003, the menuZap window is superimposed over the MS-Excel window and the user can continue to work in the MS-EXCEL environment. He has complete choice in the way that the menuZap window is displayed: list of buttons always displayed, menuZap window shrunk or completely closed.
With MS-Excel 97, the menuZap window is superimposed over the MS-Excel window but it must be closed in order to access both MS-Excel functions and the spreadsheet. A single click on the menuZap button in the tool bar will re-display the menuZap window.
- Can several workbooks be worked on at the same time?
Yes. When several workbooks are open in MS-Excel and are being used with menuZap, menuZap detects the current workbook as soon as the mouse moves into its window. menuZap is automatically displayed with data from the current workbook menu.
