Frequently Asked Questions - PDF Export Kit
- Why Convert PDF files into HTML format?
Converting *.pdf files into HTML format allows them to be indexed and made available on the Internet. Most of search engines pass over *.pdf files without indexing them.
- Does PDF Export Kit support batch conversion?
Yes, PDF-to-HTML supports command line arguments and so it can handle batch conversion. See Command Line article for related information.
- Can PDF-to-HTML extract text from scanned PDF documents?
No, PDF-to-HTML will only be able to extract text if it is available as text within the PDF document. It will not perform optical character recognition (OCR) procedure on scanned PDF document. However, if you use the free Paper Capture plug-in from Adobe.com to perform OCR on your PDF document, you can then use PDF-to-HTML to convert the text it creates into HTML format.
- Why some parts of PDF document are replaced by strange characters in the text output?
Sometimes when fonts are embedded or subset within a PDF, the original font information is lost and the text is corrupted. Although PDF Acrobat or Reader will still display correctly, the correct text information is not available. In these cases PDF-to-Text failed to extract the correct text from your file.
- Why images in the resulting MS Word document look too big in Word XP?
By default PDF-to-Word generates output compatible with Word 2000 and earlier. When viewing these files in Word XP, the images display 33% larger than their original size. If you have this problem, you should select "Make compatible with MS Word XP" check box on "Select files" wizard screen.
