Mah Jong Adventures has 2 game modes to choose from: Classic and Adventure.

1. Classic Mode
   
   In Classic Mode, play like you've always played Mah Jong. Just select two matching tiles to make them disappear from the board and you are scored accordingly.
   
   For Classic Mode, you can select your own layout, background image and tiles for your game. You can increase the number of tile sets to choose from by playing Adventure Mode and unlocking new tile-sets. You can choose from default layouts or ones you create using the Layout Editor.
   
   
2. Adventure Mode
   
   In Adventure Mode, you embark on a journey to 18 locations around the world, recovering the missing tiles of a golden Mah Jong set. In Adventure mode, matching two golden tiles immediately clears the board.
   
   

Editing or Creating a New Tile Layout

Using the Layout Editor, you can design your own tile layouts and play them inside of Classic Mode.

It is very easy to create tile layouts. They can be created with 1 to 9 levels and from 72 to 432 tiles. Each level needs to have an even number of tiles to make the tile layout 'solvable'. Place tiles by clicking your left mouse button. Remove tiles by clicking the right mouse button. Hold the left button down and move the mouse to place multiple tiles. You can also add new levels on top or underneath the current one by changing the "current level." If you are on level 1 you can place a new level on top of it by clicking on 2 under "current level" and so on.

Changing Your Background and Tile Set In-Game

You can change your background and tile set from inside of the game by clicking on "Images" or "Tiles" in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. You can only change the background inside of Classic Mode.

Playing Your MP3s or Re-Setting Music

Mah Jong Adventures comes with a built-in MP3 player! You can play your own music or fast-forward through the default in-game music to your favorite song. You can customize the music in Mah Jong Adventures either from the Options Menu - or inside the game, by clicking on "Music" in the lower right-hand corner.
