- How to play Cyclanoid?
The objective of the game is to arrange the tiles in rows to match the icons displayed along the game-area border. The game board consists of a random set of images, turn buttons located on crossings of rows and columns and cycles connected with them. Use the turn buttons to turn the cycles around them. The left or right mouse buttons turn the cycles according to its directions. The cycle becomes highlighted, when the mouse pointer is over a turn button.
- How to create a puzzle?
This version of Cyclanoid has a visual puzzle builder. You can create your own puzzles quite simply and store them to disk.
The first step is to use the Game-Create puzzle menu item and enter the category, name and board size for the new puzzle in the dialog box. You can select an existing category and puzzle name using the combo boxes. The category defines in which group of the Game-Select game menu the puzzle will be in. The name defines a real name of new puzzle.
You can use the same names for different puzzles only if they have different board sizes. The uniqueness of puzzle names defines with a name and board size. The puzzles with equal names but different board sizes will be grouped into the separate subgroups.
After entering the puzzle properties press the "Ok" button in the dialog box. Now Cyclanoid is in the "Puzzle builder" mode.
The second step is to create a set of cycles. To create a cycle move the mouse pointer over any round button then press the left mouse button. A popup menu will appear on the screen. Choose the Create a cycle item in this menu. A turn button will be created instead of the round button and the builder switches to the cycle creating mode.
Now you must select tiles that will define a new cycle. Click the left mouse button over any tile to include it in the cycle. The sequence of choice defines the rotation nature of cycle. You must experiment a little to understand it.
Click the new turn button with the left mouse button to complete or delete the new cycle. The popup menu will appear on the screen again. Choose the Complete the cycle item in this menu if you wish to complete the cycle or the Delete the cycle item if you wish to delete it. The builder switches to initial mode.
To delete a cycle, click an existing turn button with the left mouse button and choose the Delete the cycle menu item in the popup menu.
The third step is to save the puzzle. Use the Game-Save puzzle menu item to save the puzzle. Use the Game-Drop puzzle menu item to drop the puzzle if you do not wish to save it.
