Frequently Asked Questions - Poker Simulator Pro
- Why do the splash screen and the table seem to be uncentered and misplaced?
Your DPI setting is set for "Large size" or some other custom size.
Fix: In your display properties (right click on your desktop background and go to properties) under the "Settings" tab click on "Advanced" and then under the "General" tab change the "DPI setting" to "Normal size (96 DPI)" or whatever the normal size is.
- The program doesn't load up or suddenly halts right after loading.
You may be missing some of the images located in the "\images" subdirectory.
Fix: Uninstall then reinstall the program.
- How many simulations is "enough"?
Depends! I have run the program up to 500,000 simulations and found that this seems to give data that is accurate up to tenths placeholder. However, to get data that is approximately correct (within 2-5 percentage points) you should run the simulation between 1,000 and 10,000 hands.
- Why can't I access the Debug button on the Table window?
This button is used for development of the program and testing routines within the program. It has no use to anyone who isn't helping to develop the program. However, if you still feel the need to know what is behind that button you can email me and I will respond with the password to let you gain access (it may take a while for me to respond via email but I will eventually respond).
- Can I change the artwork (such as the table, cards, and card backs)?
Yes you can, all that you need to do is replace the artwork in the "\images" directory, make sure all the artwork has the appropriate filename, and the artwork is the correct size (pixels). If you want to show off your superior artwork or want to have it distributed with my program feel free to contact me and I will see if it isn't possible to include your artwork (and your name) in the program somewhere =).
