How It Works

GameHike works similar to our PCHeal software by modifying multiple Windows registry entries as well as system files to increase computer gaming performance. The process begins by GameHike locating all installed hardware on your computer and then runs through pre-defined routines to diagnose it's status. Then GameHike based on your computers' configuration determines appropriate values to modify accordingly. The whole process should take under two minutes to complete.

GameHike Modifications
  • Maximum and minimum file cache
  • Memory swap file/conservative swap file
  • Windows animation settings
  • Monitor refresh rates
  • File allocation size and buffers
  • Windows system resources
  • Application priority level
  • Device drivers
  • and much more...

Operating System

The control "Operating System" determines the operating system the computer uses. GameHike will try to determine automatically the operating system the computer is using. It is important that the correct operating system is chosed as this affects the changes and settings made to your computer.

Processor Type

The control "Processor Type" determines the central processing unit/processor the computer uses. GameHike will not try to determine automatically the central processor the computer is using due to the numerous different types available on the market. You can determine what type of processor your computer uses by checking the computer's help booklet/manual. If you do not know the processor type, choose 'Unknown/Other Processor' and GameHike will use generic settings. It is preferable to choose either the Intel, AMD or the VIA processor type if your computer uses one of these, as more specific setting changes are made to your computer.

Speed Setting

The control "Speed Setting" determines the speed setting to modify your computer's gaming performance to use. The best option is to use the 'Fastest' setting; however, this is not available until you register the software. Please test using the 'Fast' setting before deciding to register. Also note that the 'Fastest' setting adjusts your computer's gaming performance greatly compared to the 'Fast' setting.

Restore/Go Buttons

The control "Go" modifies your computer gaming settings, based on the options you have chosen in GameHike.

The control "Buttons" restores your computer gaming settings back to it's original condition before using GameHike.

Frequently Asked Questions - GameHike

  1. Do I need to run GameHike every time I restart my computer?
Yes and no, GameHike needs to only be run once. After you register the software and choose the 'Fastest' option, you will never again 'have' to run the software. However, you should run GameHike again only after you install new hardware to your computer. This will insure that any changes that may have resulted from the installation are detected and GameHike makes appropriate changes to your computer system.

  2. If I register, will the 'Fastest' setting do anything more? Also isn't GameHike the same thing as PcHeal?
Yes, the 'Fastest' setting uses the most optimal settings for your computer gaming performance. When GameHike was developed the 'Fast' setting was degraded down to use average boost settings, the 'Fastest' setting on the other hand will use all performance settings available for your computer.

As to the second question; GameHike is very similar to PcHeal, in fact, GameHike was built off PcHeal's core. However GameHike is different in that it focuses entirely on gaming performance increases, it does not fix or repair problems with your computer and make general settings as PcHeal does. PcHeal is good for the average computer user, while GameHike is specifically tailored for the hardcore gamer in mind.

  3. I have noticed that when I start GameHike it attempts to access my internet connection, why is this?
Unfortunately there are many users of the software previously which have chosen to the pirate software rather then pay the very small license fee. For this reason, GameThrust will attempt to verify the Name/Serial each time the software is started. No other personal information other then the Name/Serial, and computer IP Address is transmitted over the internet.
