3D Elements
- Choose 'File import' from the element menu to add a 3D model to your movie. 3D Flash Animator supports the importing of 3D Studio files and VRML files.
- Or choose 3D text or 3D shape to create your own model.
- 3D Flash Animator will automatically scale the model to match the viewing area.
- You can select a 3D model by clicking on its name in the element list or by clicking on its image in the graphics window.
- You can them move the model using the position and scale buttons on the left toolbar, or the rotation buttons on the main toolbar.
- A texture map can be applied to a model. After the texture has been chosen, you will need to choose a mapping axis. If you are using a texture map, then you will need to export your model as bitmaps not vectors.
Exporting
- Flash is not a 3D animation format. Each frame of a 3D animation can be exported either as 2D vectors or bitmaps.
- For models with a small number of polygons, or for images that use alot of screen space, exporting as 2D vectors can result in a smaller file size.
- For models with a large number of polygons, exporting as bitmaps can result in a smaller file size. Bitmaps can also take advantage of texture mapping and smooth rendering. The file size can be further reduced by increasing the bitmap compression.
- The most efficient types of 3D animations are ones that loop between a small number of frames. This can be done by placing the animation in a movie element.
