Using the StudyMinder Homework System
Entering Your Class Schedule
Entering your Class Schedule is something you need to do only once when you first start using StudyMinder, and then again each new term.
The Class Schedule is part of the Term information. A term is the period of time from one report card to the next. Most schools have four terms per year. At the start of each new report card period, you need to add the new term and the Class Schedule for that term.
- Click the "Class Schedule" button. The Select Term window opens.
- Click the "New Term" button. The New Term window opens.
- Enter the name of the Term, and the Start and End dates. If you don't know the exact dates, take your best guess. You can always change the dates later.
- In the Class Schedule section, add each class you have this term.
- Select the days and times you have each class.
- You can add notes and select a color for each class. Use the notes to add your teacher's name and contact information, room number and anything else of importance to the class.
- Click OK to save the term information.
You can change the Term at any time if you want to look back and see an old term. Only the assignments for the Active Term are visible.
Important: Make sure to select the current term before you add any new assignments.
Adding Assignments
Add your new homework assignments every day after school, before you do anything else. Add all assignments, tests, quizzes, projects and anything else that you need to work on or study for.
- Click on the Calendar to set the date your assignment is due.
- Click on any blank line in the List View. This opens a New Assignment window.
- Select the class the assignment is for. The classes in the menu are the ones you added to the term's class schedule. If you need to, you can go back to the Term and make changes.
- Enter a description of the assignment. If you want to add more information, you can use the Notes.
- Think about how long it will take you to finish the assignment. Select the time from the Estimated Time menu. A good estimate is important for planning how much time you will need to complete your homework.
- When you're done, click the OK button to save the assignment.
Continue until all assignments are added.
