- Organizer starts but disappears and no error messages are displayed.
Delete WND.DAT file in DATA subdirectory (e.g. c:\orgdel\data\wnd.dat).
- Organizer doesn't start and "Index out of range" error message is displayed.
Solution:
- Start Designer and click on Create/Modify Layout.
- Select your database and make sure the layout is correct.
- Close the Layout windows by clicking on OK.
- File downloaded from your home page have a ".TGZ" extension. Why ?
Microsoft Internet Explorer will rename our ".ZIP" files to ".TGZ". All you have to do is change the extension of the downloaded file back to ".ZIP". You can do it before the download (in Save As dialog box) or after the download (on your hard disk). Netscape users probably will not have this problem.
- How to install downloaded software?
You have to "unzip" each downloaded program. It is best to do it in a separate directory. After that run Install.exe or Setup.exe (whichever is present) and follow the instructions. You can use WinZip utility to unzip and install downloaded software in one easy step.
- How to set up Organizers to accept International (non-English) characters?
This information is for the International users only. If you want to be able to type in your native language (non-English) characters e.g. French, German, etc. and have those characters saved properly in your Organizer database you have to modify your Borland Database Engine (BDE) configuration. If you are using a 16-bit version of our Organizer (Windows 3.1) try to locate C:\IDAPI directory. The BDE files should be in this directory. One of the files in C:\IDAPI is called Bdecfg.exe. Run this file and select your language Driver for Dbase. If you cannot locate C:\IDAPI directory or Bdecfg.exe file you have to install the 16-bit version of BDE (click here for more info). If you are using a 32-bit version of our software (Windows 95 / NT) try to locate Bde Admin program in your Control Panel. If it is not there, try to search your hard drive for Bdeadmin.exe or Bdecfg32.exe file. Then, start Bdeadmin.exe or Bdecfg32.exe and select your language Driver for Dbase. If you cannot locate Bdeadmin.exe or Bdecfg.exe file you have to install the 32-bit version of BDE.
- Why Letter Tabs Are Not Working?
Letter Tabs can only be active if you select a Primary Sort Field (the field must be of a text type, e.g. not numeric or date type). Just click on Advanced/Sort and select a Primary Sort Field. If the Letter Tabs are still not active click on Options and select Enable Letter Tabs.
