The Practice Mode is an ideal way of becoming familiar with the sets of words you will be tested on. You can customize your practice to the way that suits you best but to begin with we suggest you start by practicing in sessions of 20 words at time. We suggest you repeat each foreign word out loud.

Please note that a practice session only plays words that have not been banked

Category

Select the category of words you would like to practice.

General

• Show Word - Displays the current word in your language.
• Show Words - Displays the current word of the language you are learning.
• Exclude Banked Words - Ignores words that you have banked. In most cases you will want to leave this box checked. If you have already banked a word then there is usually no need to practice it.

Session Options

• Gap - Time between each word (in seconds). You could increase this gap if you prefer to repeat each word two or three times before hearing the next one.
• Number of Words - The number of words to play for each session. If you check the box marked "All" , the session will continue until it has completed all the words in that category.
• Continuous Play - If this box is checked, when the session is complete it will start again at the beginning word. This will continue until you click the "Stop" button.
• Starting Word - The word number you want your practice session to start from.
