Software Description:
Frame Harmonic - dynamic, linear analysis of space frames, structures and beams. Structures can be statically or harmonically excited via loads and support points. View animated solutions as graphs or color-scaled neutral axes. Solutions include deflections, reactions, stresses, frequency response and more. Models can be damped or undamped.
Eight standard cross sections types (H, C, L, T, rectangular and round bars and tubing) plus custom cross section designer. A library of US standard structural sections is included.
Key Features:
- Linear finite element analysis (FEA) of space frames and beams using line (Euler Beam).
- Static and harmonic dynamic (steady-state) analysis: element masses modeled as continuous, distributed masses rather than lumped masses. Steady-state dynamic vibration analysis of structural design.
- Rigid, pinned and sliding connections.
- Thermal expansion/contraction analysis (static delta T)
- Unlimited number of nodes & elements
- 3D CAD interface with beams represented graphically as 3D solids (wireframes or shaded)
- Minimum 6 DOF per node
- Automatic node assignments (no need to draw beams in segments, neutral axis intersections are recognized as nodes). Nodes will be displayed automatically
- Easily define standard & custom cross sections. Cross section calculator is included. Prism can read AutoCAD dxf drawings of beam cross sections.
- Store cross section and material library files for future use. Library of US standard sections is included.
- Concentrated force & moment loads - either static or harmonic
- Distributed force & moment loads - either static or harmonic
- Concentrated mass loads - respond to gravity and acceleration
