SharkPoint DualPack for Palm
When you start SharkPoint for Palm for the first time, no logbook files are present on your Palm device and the program will create new logbook files. This is done during the startup and you are able to watch the process progression in the splash screen.
After the startup of SharkPoint for Palm the main window will pop up. From this main window, you are able to navigate throughout the program.
The program provides the user several ways to navigate throughout the SharkPoint logbook system.
The main menu
SharkPoint for Palm is equipped with a (main) menu in the top of the program. Click on the menu
Icon in the left-top corner of the window, this opens the menu. Also the Palm device menu soft key opens the menu of SharkPoint. The main menu contains all the SharkPoint logbook functions and is for this purpose divided into three sub menus: File, Logbook and Options. In the File sub menu logbook file functions are listed:
- New logbook - This command will create a new (empty) logbook file. Note: If an existing logbook is active, the New logbook function will overwrite this active logbook.
- Switch logbook - Switch with this function to an existing logbook on your PDA device.
- Rename logbook - The Rename logbook command renames the active logbook to a non-existing logbook on your Palm device and creates a new (empty) active logbook.
In the Logbook menu, the following functions are listed:
- Dives overview - The dive overview dialog gives you the opportunity to overview, sort and
find dives.

and delete your buddies.

- Log settings - In the logbook dialog the settings of your logbook (for example: metric
versus imperial) can be set.

etc.
- Re-calculate PG - Use this command to recalculate all the pressure groups in all your
dives in the logbook.

SharkPoint DualPack for Windows
When starting SharkPoint for Windows for the first time, the program will create (based on the program default settings) a new and empty logbook database (filename: Noname.SHA). And based on this default settings the program will display a Welcome -dialog, which enables you to navigate through the program (see picture).
Press the appropriate button to create or open a SharkPoint for Windows logbook. Cancel the dialog by pressing the Cancel -button in the right/top.
All your actions in the Welcome -dialog will lead you to the default logbook section. SharkPoint for Windows is, as SharkPoint for PocketPC, divided into six logbook sections (Dives, Dive place, Dive school, Dive buddy, Log settings and Personal Information). This gives the user the opportunity to enter dive information in a grouped and effective way.
Within SharkPoint for Windows are four different ways to switch between the different logbook section panels.
- In the main window the logbook section locator can found on the left side. The logbook section locator is an easy to use button menu. Each button will switch the corresponding SharkPoint logbook section panel.
- The second way to select individual logbook section panels is the usage of the speed buttons in the toolbar of SharkPoint (see picture).
- By using the commands Go to previous input panel or Go to next input panel in the main menu Action you are able to switch between the sections.
- The last way to switch between logbook section panel is the usage of the function keys F10 and F11.
Frequently Asked Questions - SharkPoint DualPack (Palm & Windows)

- What are the supported dive plan tables?
At the moment, SharkPoint for Palm supports the NAUI, SSI and IDD dive plan tables for planning your dive. In the near future, we will add more common dive table systems.
- I would like to convert the units in the demo SharkPoint for Windows from metric to imperial. Can I do that?
Yes! Default, the values of the selectors metric/imperial and Celsius/Fahrenheit (on the tab Log settings of SharkPoint for Windows) are imperial and Fahrenheit (this in case you start a new logbook).
The Default values (which are used creating a new logbook) can be altered in the dialog Settings -> tab Logbook defaults. After changing the logbook defaults, every time you start a new logbook the selector's metric/imperial and Celsius/Fahrenheit in the logbook settings section (select the section in the navigation bar on the left of the screen) will be changed to the new default values.
