Frequently Asked Questions - GetSmile
- What Is GetSmile?
Your e-mails look too ordinary? Your postings are just plain boring? Bring fun to your life! Delight yourself and people around you with a smile! You need just one program - GetSmile. This program lets you insert the most beautiful smilies in your messages. Just one mouse click stands between you and them.
- What's the Local mode of GetSmile?
Smilies are special attachments to your e-mails. There is nothing special about them. Almost all the e-mail clients can work with this type of smilies. GetSmile uses this mode by default. You can safely leave it as is.
- What is the Remote mode?
Smilies are in fact hidden URLs. They work in a way similar to the message board's one. The only difference is that you see actual smilies in your e-mails right after you insert smilies (e-mail clients download and show them for you) instead of that silly URLs and tags.
- Why to use the remote mode?
Smilies inserted in local mode may not be seen by recepients who use some online services and read their correspondence via a Web browser. If your friend uses Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, etc. and cannot see your smilies try switching to the remote mode: just clear the Options -> Local Smilies E-mail Mode menu item
