Advanced Scheduling
Everyone's schedule is diferent. That is why ChatBlocker offers a completely customizable scheduling wizard to ensure regardless of who is using your computer, you can fine tune it to any extent. With ChatBlocker's intelligent scheduling wizard, you can effortlessly create time slots (by day, weekdays, or weekend) where chatting is permitted, and when chatting is NOT permitted. When chatting is permitted, ChatBlocker will record all instant messages and chats. When chatting is NOT permitted, ChatBlocker will deny, block, and prevent all attempts to chat.
Automated Reporting
ChatBlocker comes with a robust, easy-to-use reporting tool. The report generator within ChatBlocker will generate a sleek report for you to review. Frequently Asked Questions - ChatBlocker
- Does ChatBlocker support limited user accounts?
As of ChatBlocker 2.4.5 (released on August 08, 2005) ChatBlocker is fully compatible with Windows Limited User Accounts. If you are not currently running ChatBlocker 2.4.5, please contact our support department at the link below to receive an update.
- How do I remove ChatBlocker if I did NOT include an uninstaller?
If you installed ChatBlocker without an uninstaller (you clicked the "No" button when prompted during the installation process as to whether or not you would like an installer to be included with your copy of ChatBlocker), you can simply locate the ChatBlocker files in Windows Explorer (in the directory that you choose the files to be installed into - The default location is C:\Program Files\ExploreAnywhere\ChatBlocker\) and delete them manually. This will do remove ChatBlocker off your system the same way the Uninstaller would.
Note: To ensure all ChatBlocker files are completely removed off your system, ensure that ChatBlocker (i.e. ChatBlocker.exe) is NOT running when you delete the ChatBlocker files.
- I am unable to rename ChatBlocker.exe!
If you are trying to rename the ChatBlocker.exe module to another name, but receive a Windows error stating the the file cannnot be renamed (for whatever reason), it is because ChatBlocker is running already on your system. To stop ChatBlocker from running, you will have to manually close it. To do this, simply end the monitoring process (if it is in stealth mode, you will have to remove it from stealth mode before proceeding) and hit the "X" on the main ChatBlocker interface window. Once you have closed ChatBlocker, you can now freely rename the ChatBlocker.exe module to whatever name you wish without receiving any errors!
- I run ChatBlocker, but nothing happens. What's wrong?
If you run the ChatBlocker.exe module, and find that no program executes, it is VERY likely that you have configured ChatBlocker to run in total stealth mode upon activation. To take ChatBlocker out of stealth mode, you will need to simultaneously press the correct key sequence to bring ChatBlocker out of stealth mode. This key sequence is as follows:

- Is ChatBlocker Compatible with MSN 6.0 and 7.0?
Yes! ChatBlocker is fully compatible with MSN Messenger 6.0 and 7.0.
- Why Can't I Remove ChatBlocker From Stealth Mode?
If nothing occurs when you press the appropriate hotkey to remove ChatBlocker from stealth mode (Ctrl / Shift / Alt / F8). This means that ChatBlocker is not running in stealth mode, or ChatBlocker is not monitoring your machine. If this is the case, ensure ChatBlocker is running, and if it is, but not in stealth mode, simply click the ChatBlocker icon on your system tray (near the clock) to bring up the main ChatBlocker control panel.
Note: Ctrl / Shift / Alt / F8 will NOT work if you have changed the stealth mode HotKey inside the ChatBlocker Preferences window. If you have changed the default HotKey, you will need to press that hotkey instead of Ctrl / Shift / Alt / F8.
- Why isn't ChatBlocker recording any instant messages?
If ChatBlocker is NOT recording chats and instant messages, ensure that you have enabled this feature under the Logging tab inside the General Configuration screen. Also, double check to make sure that the software for the chat platform you wish to monitor is up to date. If the chat software that is not being recorded is an older build, ChatBlocker may not be able to monitor the instant messages/chats correctly. Always be sure to ensure that you are running the latest versions of all the chat platforms to ensure they will be monitored.
Note: It is best to run MSN 4/5 - as MSN 6.0 is NOT supported by ChatBlocker.
- Will ChatBlocker be detected by virus scanners?
We are always doing the best we can to prevent our software from being detected by virus scanners and anti spy software applications. However, due to the increase in awareness of these programs, we cannot guarantee our product will not be picked up by every scanning application available. If our software is picked up, we will always ensure that an update is released to prevent it from being picked up.
