How to use Im-Snif

1. Download Im Snif from the website and then install it on your computer.
   
   
2. Click "start > programs > Imsnif" to run the program.
   
   
3. Choose a IP address and then click the button "status" to snif.
   
   
4. Click the upper menu bar to set the parameters for the best working condition.

1. What is difference between "OS Routing" and "routing by Snif"?
   "OS routing" is faster.
   
   
2. What this all is about ?
   This software is intended to intercept private messages from peer to peer, like ICQ, MSN, IRC and Email messages, across a local area network. Some other messaging networks we are planned to add soon (like Jabber).
   
   
3. What is the ARP spoofing technique?
   The ARP spoofing is a technique to redirect a normal LAN traffic flow to a dedicated computer, running the IcqSnif software, bypassing a direct ethernet addressing. So it is possible to observe a traffic which is not directed to a specified host. This makes possible to sniff messages in LAN built upon ethernet switches, not only hubs. It's important that traffic you want to analyze is not routed (e.g is not behind a router), in which case the ARP spoofing is useless.
