How to use IPSwitcher Basic

1. Download IPSwitcher and then run it. IPSwitcher setup will guide you through the installation process.
   
   
2. Start application at the first time. You will see dialog about registration. If you would like to use trial version then click Register Later button. Otherwise register your IPSwitcher Basic. More detail process of registration is described in the Registration section of this manual.
   
   
3. When application will run first time ever it will create default TCP Configurations (for each of the installed Network Adapters). Also information about current (default) collections of IP addresses (such as IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS addresses, WINS addresses) will be stored in the registry. Later, if you would like to use this default information you should click Default... button on the Main Screen. This operation will show screen where you'll be able to select any of the available Default or Current (Live) TCP Configurations;
   
   
4. Now you can create, update or delete any of the TCP Configurations from the left pane of the Main Screen. Actual changes for the selected TCP Configuration could be done through the right pane of the Main Screen (as described in Main Screen Operation section of this manual).
   
   
5. In case if you would like to apply any of the defined configurations you can do it from the Main Screen (by selecting appropriate TCP Configuration and pressing Apply button) or from the Pop-Up Menu (which is more easy. Just select desired TCP Configuration name and click it by mouse).

Frequently Asked Questions - IPSwitcher Basic

1. What is Original configuration?
   Original configuration is a set of network settings which was originally installed on your computer before you have run IPSwitcher Basic at the first time ever. This configuration (one for each network adapter) is stored in order to rollback any changes in the network settings.
   
   
2. How can I change this Original Configuration? Is it safe?
   If you would like to change the Original Configuration you can do it by selecting Configuration Save as Original menu item. In this case currently selected configuration (with the correspondent network adapter) will be saved as original. It's absolutely safe to change this configuration. But in this case you won't be able to rollback to your original network settings. So please think carefully if you really need to change this Original configuration. As an alternative you can create any new configuration based on the Original configuration (just by loading this configuration and saving it with a new meaningful name).
   
   
3. How can I check my current set of IP addresses for any of the installed network cards?
   You have to click View->Original configuration menu item (or click Ctrl+L) and select relevant network adapter from the combobox. This will show your current (live) settings. Sometimes it could be necessary to press Refresh icon on the main screen (right above the network adapters combobox (or press toolbar button) to get a real set of IP addresses (for example, after applying of the selected configuration).
   
   
4. I can not register my IPSwitcher Basic. What should I do?
   Registration procedure requires active internet connection. But in some cases users can not use registration scheme of the IPSwitcher Basic. Mostly it depends on local firewall. Support for proxy verification\firewall is already implemented in the registration\un-registration wizard. Still there is a workaround for the registration:
   Start Registration.exe utility
   Enter all necessary fields (including RegistrationID and Password)
   Click "Technical support" link on the bottom of the registration page.
