1. Open or create the icon.
2. Select transparent color at the bottom of the color palette with color picker.
3. Select Flood fill tool.
4. Click on the background. If the background doesn't become transparent that means that it isn't of one and the same color.

1. Select Effects/Color Replacement from the main menu. Color Replacement dialog will appear.
2. Click on the color pattern to select the old color you would like to change or you can also select Transperent and Inverted colors if you would like to change them.
3. Select the New Color.
4. You can also choose the replacement colors in the editor's window beforehand. Foreground Color is Old Color and Background Color is New Color. Then click Editor Colors button on Color Replacement dialog to set the colors you have selected with Color Picker.
5. Check the Exchange Colors checkbox if you want the new color to be changed into the old one.
6. Press OK.

1. How can I translate the program interface to my native language?
   
   Only ArtIcons can be localizated now. You can find .lng and .mnu files in "language" subfolder in the ArtIcons directory. You can translate these files to any language and put them into this folder. After that you can select this language by clicking View\ Language command from the main menu.
   
   
2. What are Windows XP icons?
   
   Microsoft Windows XP introduces a new style in icon design. The Windows XP icon style is all about fun, color, and energy-as there are now 32-bit versions of the icons, smooth edges.
   
   
3. How can I use a created icon on the Windows desktop?
   
   1. Right click on the desktop.
   2. Choose New/Shortcut from the popup menu.
   3. Select the object - a document or executable.
   4. The default icon of the object will appear on the desktop. To change it - do right click on the     icon and choose properties from the popup menu.
   5. Press Change Icon button, select the icon you want and press OK.
   
   
4. How can I modify a folder icon?
   
   You can easily change standard icons using ArtIcons:
   
   1. Select View / Customize Windows item on the Main Menu.
   2. Customize Windows Icons dialog will appear.
   3. Select Folders tabsheet.
   4. Select desired folder into the Folder field.
   5. Press Change... button to select desired icon.
   6. Press Apply or OK buttons.
   
   
5. How can I change the shortcut to a single document?
   
   1. Right click on the shortcut you want to change.
   2. Select Properties from popup menu.
   3. Select Internet Document tabsheet.
   4. Press Change Icon button and browse for the icon you want to see instead the default one.

   1. Run Windows Explorer (by right click on windows start button and choosing from popup     menu)

7. How can I modify icons inside executables and other program files?
   
   You can modify icons inside executables, DLLs and other program files with Aha-Soft ArtIcons or IconLover.
   
   It's possible to modify icon images. It's impossible to add or remove icons, add or remove icon images, modify image sizes. If you will modify library structure after opening a program file, the program will not allow you to save modified library into the source file.
   
   
8. How can I create a favorites icon for a Web site?
   
   1. Create your icon. It can be multi-resolution.
   2. Save this icon as favicon.ico.
   3. Copy this favicon.ico file to the directory of the Web site.
