How to backup

Outlook Express has to be closed during the backup procedure. Please close Outlook Express and other programs that use OE (MS Messenger, etc.), don't run them during the backup process. Run the program and open Backup page

At first you should select the identity and select all parts that you want to backup. Then select a file name where the data will be stored. You can write a brief description to mark your backup file. Press Backup button to perform the operation.

If Outlook Express is still running, you'll get a warning message. You should close all instances of Outlook Express, but on some systems the user cannot close MS Messenger easily. You may press Ignore button, but we don't guarantee that backup will be successfully finished in that case.

The backup operation takes some time, it's depending on a size of your Outlook Express data. You'll be able to see a progress during the operation:

You will get Operation complete message, if the backup procedure was completed successfully.

Unless the procedure has been canceled or some serious errors occurs. If you get Operation canceled message at the end of the procedure your backup data is invalid, please check if you have enough free space on you disk and redo the backup procedure.

How to restore

Outlook Express has to be closed during the restore procedure. Please close Outlook Express and other programs that use OE (MS Messenger, etc.), don't run them during the restore process. Run the program and open Restore page.

At first you should select a file with backed up data, you can verify the content of file by description or an internal information. Then select all parts you want to restore. After that, select the identity where the data should be restored. Press Restore button to perform the operation.

If Outlook Express is still running, you'll get a warning message. You should close all instances of Outlook Express, but on some systems the user cannot close MS Messenger easily. You may press Ignore button, but we don't guarantee that restore will be successfully finished in that case.
