Frequently Asked Questions - CopyToDVD
- Is there a functional difference between the trial and the registered version?
No. We highly recommend testing the software before your purchasing, so as to make sure your hardware is compatible with the product you want to obtain.
- My files are 4.38GB (or more) and I am using a 4.7GB DVD disc, why won't CopyToDVD write it?
A 4.7GB disc will only hold 4.37GB of data. The Computer sees 1GB as 1,073,741,824 bytes. The disc manufactures see 1GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes.
- You say I can only put 4.37GB of data on a DVD, so how do I put my 5-7GB movie on a disc?
You will need to Transcode the DVD files to reduce the file size below 4.37GB, and then you can write them. See the video tools page for a recommended product list.
- Why won't my backups made with BlindWrite work in other computers?
You should download and install the Autoplay filter on the computer you are trying to run the backups on. The Autoplay filter can be found on our downloads page.
- CopyToDVD and BlindWrite doesn't handle encrypted DVDs, what can I do?
In some countries bypass protection is illegal. That's why we didn't include this feature. You can try to find some tools on internet to make this possible, such as dvddecryptor, dvd43, dvdidle.
