- How to rename MP3's Audio files using the MP3 plugin?
NameWiz comes with an MP3 plugin which let you rename your MP3 files using the music headers, such as Artist name, Album name, Song name, Year, etc.
First, you need to make sure that the MP3 plugin is loaded, go to Plugins menu and select MP3 , you are now ready to use the MP3 plugin window!
Go to the Source Explorer tab and select the folder of your MP3's files to be rename or viewed. Click on Perform Rename check box of the MP3 window to activate it. You will now see 4 check boxes with a drop down menu so you can select the order of your criteria. A field called Separate with, let you separate the headers of the MP3 File Information (on the left side of the Perform Rename) you can view your actual MP3's headers.
- How to rename all other files & folders?
Let's say you want to Rename your files to the proper year and add a description to the files names...
We will be using the Insert in Insert / Delete tab and the Prefix in Options / Settings tab.
Before the renaming (Original files) ...
C:\Business\Documents\Bill of Sales.doc
C:\Business\Documents\General Release.doc
C:\Business\Documents\Limited Guarante.doc
C:\Business\Documents\General Assignment.doc
Go to the Source Explorer tab and select the path for the renaming process.
go to the Insert/Delete tab and type 'Contract'.
go to Options/Settings tab and add a Prefix of 2004_.
After renaming (Renamed files)...
C:\Business\Documents\2004_Contract Bill of Sales.doc
C:\Business\Documents\2004_Contract General Release.doc
C:\Business\Documents\2004_Contract Limited Guarante.doc
C:\Business\Documents\2004_Contract General Assignment.doc
