Frequently Asked Questions - Watchdog - O - Matic

1. I try to monitor an application, but the application shuts down!
   Not all applications can be checked by the Watchdog - O - Matic application. The Watchdog - O - Matic will attach part of itself to the application, but not all applications like this. We have tested the Watchdog - O - Matic with various other programs such as ICQ, Word, Outlook, ... and all those work fine. But for instance Kazaa doesn't and will close itself down if it detects an app like Watchdog - O - Matic. This is by design of those programs, and cannot be changed in the Watchdog - O - Matic application. This is why the program is shareware. You can test if Watchdog - O - Matic will work with the program you want before you buy it.
   
   
2. I uninstalled this product. The next time I started windows, some of my applications where not loaded.
   When you used Watchdog - O - Matic, you chose to watch certain programs by using the 'Import Autostart Programs' feature. It is important to remove all selected apps before you uninstall this application. Refer to the manual.
   
   
3. I added new watchdogs with the 'Import Autostart Programs' function, but after a reboot, the programs are running without the watchdog. The program that doesn't start is now twice in the 'Import Autostart Programs' dialog.
   You have to disable all autorun features in those programs. Normally, this is done automatically for you, but certain programs re-add autostart features. Some programs can have only 1 instance running. Windows will start the program that re-added autorun features before the Watchdog - O - Matic application does. This means the second instance will automatically shut down and will no longer be monitored.
   
   
4. After a certain time, some of the loggings disappear.
   This is normal behaviour. The application only keeps 32k logging. It will remove the older loggings if new ones are available.
   
   
5. I've installed Watchdog - O - Matic on my NT machine. When I try to run the program, I get a "Problem loading PSAPI.DLL" error message.
   Some NT systems don't have the PSAPI.DLL installed. You can download this dll here. Copy this file in the windows system32 directory or in the directory where you've installed Watchdog - O - Matic. This problem should be solved with Watchdog - O - Matic 1.07.
