Frequently Asked Questions - DVD Region+CSS Free
- How does it work?
It's very simple! DVD Region+CSS Free works in the background, automatically making DVD's appear region code free and unprotected. With the help of DVD Region+CSS Free, you can watch any region coded DVD movies with a software DVD player like PowerDVD or WinDVD! With DVD Region+CSS Free's help, DVD copy software (such as DVDFab, DVD X Copy, InterVideo DVD Copy, etc.) is able to copy DVD's which are CSS protected! And now, it also allows you to play, copy and rip protected Audio CD's!
- Why do I still get the pop up window which asks me to change the region settings?
First of all, you should see this icon on the taskbar. If you don't, then DVD Region+CSS Free probably isn't running. Try running DVD Region+CSS Free again. If this does not solve the problem, please try the following steps:
1. Restart your computer. Check to see if the problem is fixed.
2. Uninstall and reinstall the latest version of DVD Region+CSS Free. Check to see if the problem is fixed.
3. Uninstall and reinstall the software DVD Player (examples: PowerDVD or WinDVD). Check to see if the problem is fixed.
4. If the problem still exists, please contact http://www.dvdidle.com/contact.htm.
- What is the Region Counter?
The region counter is a counter in hardware or software that stores the number of region changes still available. Each time you change the region setting, the counter will decrease. The counter usually starts at 4. When it reaches 0, you'll no longer be able to change the region settings.
- Does DVD Region+CSS Free allow changing Region Counter freely?
Actually, DVD Region+CSS Free doesn't even touch your DVD drive's Region Counter! It also doesn't allow limitless changes to the Region Counter. If DVD Region+CSS Free is working properly on your PC, your DVD player will play any region coded DVD movies without any pop up message. If not, your DVD player will ask you to change the DVD drive's region settings, and you need to cancel it. In this case, see "Why do I still get the pop up window which asks me to change the region settings?" for resolution.
