Frequently Asked Questions - Jesterware DVD Ripper Professional
- I get messages when reading the DVD saying MPEG ERROR during initialisation. What does this mean?
It means the program was unable to read a particular video/audio stream and that section will be unavailable for encoding.
- I get messages about Error Seeking file, when scrolling through the DVD preview window.
This could be several things, the DVD is not responding quickly enough or there are 'read' errors on the disc.
- When I try to play a section of a DVD, it complains about YUY Renderer not supported.
This is a limitation of your Graphics card not support YUY, this error would be very unusual with todays modern graphics cards.
- I get messages saying Sample not found or audio decoding error.
DVD Audio Ripper has detected blank or silent tracks in the audio track and see's that as invalid, so studios implement this to try and defeat the DVD from being ripped. You may and I stress may get around this by turning on the Sync Video/Audio option (see Other options)
- I get messages saying DeCSS Invalid block, drive may not be unlocked
This is the internal protection mechansim of a DVD, stopping you from encoding or copying a DVD.
