webcamXP 2.40 - User Guide and FAQScreenshots - More Details
The motion detector tab Each source has its own motion detector settings except for the interval parameter which is common. On the motion picture (which is white when motion detector is disabled) you can select a zone with the mouse by clicking and sliding until the end of your zone, clicking on the zone again will remove it and use the whole picture to detect motion. If you start the motion detector by clicking on 'start detector' (status indicator above the button will turn green from red) you'll see the contrasts either in blue (positive change) or in red (negative change) on the motion picture... The value displayed under motion will also change to a higher value once motion is detected. The value under tolerance is the trigger value (0-100), once the motion detector detects something above the tolerance it will launch an alert. You can change the interval between 2 motion pictures to compare. However, keep in mind that this value affects all 5 sources. The alert tab The alert tab is shown in the right portion of the screenshot above. Here, you can setup instructions for the program once an alert is triggered. You can select the action (send by mail / upload by ftp / add to gallery / record movie / run .exe file / ...) the alert parameters are also common to all sources. In case you decide to use the email alert don't forget to fill all the parameters related to your email server and send a test mail to ensure everything is alright.
