Tips & TricksSelecting the parent object

When you select an object by a mouse-click, you can press the ESC key to select its parent (and again the ESC key to select the parent's parent and so on). This is useful if the parent cannot directly be clicked because all its display area is filled out with child elements. If you do not release the left mouse button, you can drag the parent object around. If you have pressed the right mouse button, you can invoke the context menu for the parent.

Round corners for images with borders
When you have a rectangular image with build-in borders, you can round the corners with respect to the image-contained borders! Do it by defining a hidden border (Edges sheet -> Border) of appropriate size and by defining a border radius.

Frequently Asked Questions - DFM2HTML

  1. Is there no way to open and edit html-files?
No and will probably never be possible because many HTML constructs (like tables) cannot be displayed in the DFM2HTML editor. DFM2HTML only generates HTML documents from a DFM2HTML document, not the other direction. Besides, DFM2HTML operates on a more abstract level, e.g. one DFM2HTML object can be mapped to several HTML elements. DFM2HTML offers the facility to include HTML code in a DFM2HTML document, but this code is not interpreted.

  2. How can I do contact forms or guest books?
You can build HTML forms but there is currently no way to e.g. style and design the HTML page of a server response with the DFM2HTML tool. Hosting services often provide e.g. ready-to-use quest books, but they cannot be utilitized in DFM2HTML (but they can be shown e.g. in a HTML IFrame, which is embedded as HTML code).
