Partner Links - Main Menu
Main Menu consists of five submenus:
File - provides access to functions of creating, opening and saving
projects.
- New - create new blank project
- Open - open an existing project
- Save - save changes in the current project
- Save as ... - save current project under another name and/or in
another place
Project - provides access to all actions on projects
- Project Options - opens the tab, where you can set and modify project
settings
- Edit Categories - opens Edit Categories window, where you can add
and modify categories to be assigned to the links, added to the project
- Edit Status List - opens Edit Status List window, which allows adding
and editing list of statuses, which can be assigned to the links in
project
- Add New Link - opens Add Web Site window, which allows adding partner
links and information about it to the project manually
- Edit Selected Link - allows editing information on the selected
in the Main Project Table link
- Remove Selected Link - allows deleting the selected link from the
project
- Remove Broken Link - allows deleting the selected link from the
project if it was checked by the program and found broken
- Import Links - allows importing links from other projects
- Export Links - allows exporting links from the project and saving
them to plain text and CSV files
- Find New Partners - launches Find new partners wizard
- Send E-mail to link partner - opens Send E-mail tab in Link table
pane
- Generate partner link page - opens Code generation window
Settings - provides access to all modifiable program settings -
HTTP and FTP connections, mail settings and updates
- General options - opens window for entering and modifying proxy
settings and setting default HTTP and FTP clients
- Mail options - opens e-mail configuration window
- FTP Uploader Options - opens FTP module settings window
- Update - the program launches update module, which downloads updated
search engine scripts from the program support server
View - provides access to the following windows:
- View link in browser - opens the selected in your default Internet
Browser
- Filters for search - opens windows, which allows setting and editing
filters for partners search in Find new partners wizard. Among these
filters are the following: content filter, domains and country extensions
filter, URLs filter
- Project statistics... - displays general project statistics information
- Find in the list - opens Find site dialog, using which you
can easily locate a site in the list by a search string
Help - provides access to program help and registration
- Help - opens program online help in your Internet Browser
- Order Key - opens program registration page (disappears after program
is registered)
- Registration - opens program registration dialog
- About - opens program version and contact information
Frequently Asked Questions - Partner Links
- I have registered the program but still it searches
only AltaVista for partners and only three sites can be added to the
project. Why do the trial version limitations remain?
You need to update the program database after the
registration for the correct functioning of the program.
- Can I save the project statistics to MS Word?
Yes, this can be done the to ways:
- Save the report to disc in the HTML format and then open it
in MS Word
- Copy the content of the page using key combination Ctrl+A (Select
all) and paste it into MS word document
- Can I transfer my project files onto another
computer?
By default the project files are saved in the folder,
where the program is installed, usually C:\Program Files\NetPromoter\Partner
Links\projects\ in separate folders named after the project names.
You can copy these projects into the corresponding folder on another
computer provided and run them provided both copies are registered.
- Can I set the program to upload files on the
FTP server via web folder?
Unfortunately the program cannot work via web folder.
If you want to upload the pages you have generated with the program,
find them in the folder C:\Program Files\NetPromoter\Partner Links\Uploaded
pages\... and upload onto your server using web folder.
- Partner Links generates "I/O error 103" when
saving projects
Check if you have permissions for writing in the
selected directory.
- I have added a partner site manually. When I
click "Check link back" nothing happens. Should I specify the URL
of the page, linking to my site manually, or the program can find
it?
For the program to find the page, linking to your
site you need to select Follow links on partner page if the link back
not found check box in the Settings>General options>Search parameters
tab. When the project is launched the next time the program will follow
the links and try to find the link back.
- I tried to send an e-mail to my partner from
using Partner Links. After I click Send now the program says: "Check
if the SMTP settings are correct".
This message appears only if the information on outgoing
SMTP server is missing. Go to the Settings>mail options and provide
all necessary information there.
- After searching a link by e-mail address all
other links disappeared from the Main Project Table. They appear only
after I restart the program.
You have turned on the filter by e-mail address.
Select All links in the Status filter drop-down menu
- all your links should appear.
