Detailed Description of Kantaris Media Player 0.7.4

Kantaris Media Player is a new media player based on code from Videolan client (VLC) and Bass audio library. Kantaris Media Player has a graphical user interface similar to that of Windows Media Player.

Kantaris Media Player can play almost anything you can throw at it - AVI, MPEG, MGEG-AVC, WMV, MOV, MKV, quicktime, matroska, divx, xvid, H264, MP3, WMA, OGG files and more. Kantaris Media Player can also play DVD's and audio CD's. Kantaris Media Player also displays some of the most beautiful music visualizations ever seen. All this is completely free.

Kantaris Media Player aims to be an all-in-one media player that provides a great audio and video experience. Kantaris Media Player is an open-source alternative to Windows Media Player with similar GUI and features. Video playback is based upon Videolan Client (VLC) which enables Kantaris to play almost anything without the need of installing any codecs separately. Kantaris Media Player features an attractive skin, some nice audio visualizations, and integration with Last.fm and Apple movies trailers.

What is new in Kantaris Media Player version 0.7.4:

* Kantaris Media Player Version 0.7.4 never worked like it was supposed to because there where unfortunately too many bugs. Therefor we have spent much time to test this release so that not the same would happen again. A new thing in this release is the concept of plug-ins. Everything that isn't directly connected to the playing media has been moved to plug-ins, that include the Movie Trailers, Video Library and Playlist.com Music Search. These plug-ins are no longer included but can easily be downloaded and installed from inside the player. Also there are 3 new plug-ins that are available for download.

* Goear - search and play music from the Spanish Goear music service.
* Podcasts - access a large database of popular pocasts, both video and audio.
* SongSearch - Find music using Baidu's music search.
