ProxyCap Publisher Description

ProxyCap enables you to redirect applications through a SOCKS or HTTP proxy server. You can tell ProxyCap which applications will connect to the Internet through a proxy and under what circumstances. This is done through a user friendly interface, without the need to reconfigure any of your Internet clients. ProxyCap provides flexible rule system and allows you to define your own routing rules. You can add a new rule with just a few mouse clicks.

How can I force ProxyCap to perform DNS lookups through proxy?

In order to have the proxy server perform DNS lookups, you must enable Remote DNS:
1. Right click on the ProxyCap taskbar icon and choose Preferences.
2. Click the DNS category.
3. Check the Enable Remote DNS checkbox.

How can I tell ProxyCap not to use proxy when connecting to computers in my home network?

To force direct connection to other computers in your LAN, do the following:
1. When in the Rule Editor, click the New button.
2. Fill in the Destination IP range. In most cases, 192.168.0.0/16 (home or small corporate LAN) or 10.0.0.0/8 (large corporate LAN).
3. Set the rule action to "Force direct connection".
