NetPenguin V1.23 - Screenshots
SysInfo means System Information. Just as its name implies, it allows to show local such information as hostname, DNS, interfaces list (including speed, input, output, and total packets items), local route table (including subnet mask, gateway, interface etc.) and adapter list (including adapter type, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, MAC address etc.). The Ping item verifies connections to the remote computer(s) by sending ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) echo packets to the computer and listening for echo reply packets. If the test is successful, the utility displays the time it took for the machine to answer. You can ping a single computer, or ping computers in the specific range of IP addresses. You can specify the parameters to ping (such as the packet size, timeout, timeout hint, maximum number of threads, cycles) on the Ping Scanner page. A "Packet Sniffer" is a utility that sniffs without modifying the network's packets in any way. By comparison, a firewall sees all of a computer's packet traffic as well, but it has the ability to block and drop any packets that its programming dictates. Packet sniffers merely watch, display, and log this traffic. User Guide and FAQ - More Details |
