The first time, you launch FILExtinguisher, the default configuration is to use Grade 3 Zero Write for deleting files, as well as the default wipe method for disk drives.
This configuration can be changed by clicking the Options icon in the tool bar.


The Options screen will allow you to change the wiping options for the delete/wipe operation. The default setting can be changed by checking the checkbox "Set as Default Type".
Each Delete Type will give a description and security level in the dialog window to help determine which level will be appropriate for your particular needs.
